If not all of us have played a computer game which has been set in a real life location, but did you feel they captured the culture and atmosphere of the area?.
Grand theft auto, Vice City : the most successful of all the GTA games in my eyes vice city was based in the mid 80′s and perfectly captured the atmosphere of Miami in the mid 80′s which was the basis in which the game were set, rockstar the creators on the game managed to include the latino culture and musical genres which dominated the city of Miami at period of time.
The virtual city was designed full of high rise towers which were to key, but the beach region of the game was a complete triumph as it captured exactly what Miami beach is like with it’s barrier walls, vast stretches of sand and life guard posts packed full of tourists on Miami Holidays.
Even though GTA san Andreas was meant to be based in Los Angeles it didn’t really take on many similarities apart from mock up of Las Vegas in which you could run up the sides of the Luxor pyramid shaped hotel which I found very amusing, although the city seem much more fancy and atmospheric in real life than it did in the game as I’ve been there on Las Vegas Holidays.
Red dead redemption This game was made on the basis of Spaghetti Western Cow Boys which were as hard as nails. The period and area in which this game was based was around the 1800th century when men were actually men, the set was probably in one of the south western arid states of the US like Texas.
the best thing is you can live the red dead dream and become a real life cowboy Ranch Holidays even though venturing the deserts at night hunting for villains and crooks is highly unlikely the experience would be fantastic!
