Today the library is a complex of buildings that serve as a museum and a university research center. The scope of the collection has been formed in his early years as a private collection of Belle da Costa Greene, librarian to JP Morgan, personally, would become the first director of the library and is served from the time they are made public until “until his retirement in 1948.
