Studley Royal Park, North Yorkshire

Park is a park containing, and developed around, the ruins of the Cistercian in North , England. It is a World Heritage Site. The site also contains features dating from the eighteenth century such as . The Fountains Abbey was founded in 1132 by thirteen Benedictine monks. They later became Cistercian monks. Following the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539 by Henry VIII, the Abbey buildings and over 500 acres (2.0 km2) of land were sold by the Crown to Sir Richard Gresham, a merchant. The property was passed down through several generations of Sir Richard’s family, finally being sold to Stephen Proctor who built Fountains Hall probably between 1598 and 1604. A remarkable Elizabethan mansion, Fountains Hall was built partly with stone from the . Today there are two rooms open to the public. North Yorkshire tourist spot.

Generalife, Granada

The Palacio de (Architect’s Garden) was the summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid sultans of . The palace and gardens were built during the reign of Muhammad III (1302-1309) and redecorated shortly after by Abu I-Walid Isma’il (1313-1324). The complex consists of the Patio de la Acequia (Court of the Water Channel or Water-), which has a framed by flowerbeds, fountains, and pavilions, and the Jardín de la Sultana (Sultana’s Garden or Courtyard of the Cypress). The former is thought to best preserve the style of the in Al-Andalus. Originally the palace was linked to the by a across the ravine that now divides them.
