Grand Central Terminal (GCT) – often incorrectly called Grand Central Station, or simply reduced to Grand Central – is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York, USA. Built by and named for the New York Central Railroad in the heyday of passenger trains U.S. long distance, is the world’s largest station by the number of platforms: 44, with 67 tracks along them . They are two underground levels, with 41 titles in the top level and 26 at the bottom, although the total number of tracks along the coast and more than 100 yards. When the new station of the Long Island Rail Road opened in 2016 (see East Side Access), Grand Central will offer a total of 75 tracks and 48 platforms. The terminal has an area of 48 acres (19 ha).

Although the terminal has been properly called “Grand Central Terminal” since 1913, many people still refer to him as “Grand Central Station.” “Grand Central Station” is the name of the nearest post office and the name of a former train station on the site, and is also used to refer to a subway station in New York in one place.
