The tower is part of the Trinitatis complex, which was built to provide the scholars of the time with an astronomical observatory, a student church and a university library. One of his most well-known buildings, Rundetarn was built upon request from King Christian IV and designed by architect Hans Steenwinckel the Younger. The foundation stone was laid on July 7, 1637, and the tower was finished in 1642. The Trinitatis church was not finished until 1656, and the library not until 1657. The observatory (which is the oldest functioning observatory in Europe) and the library were used by the <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/university-of-copenhagen" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with university of copenhagen">University of Copenhagen</a> until 1861. Astronomers having used the observatory include Ole Rømer (1644-1710) and Peder Horrebow (1679-1764). Back when it was first built, it was for the students who lived in little dormitories to study in the observatory and the library. Copenhagen is one of <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/top-vacation-destinations" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with top vacation destinations">top vacation destinations</a>.<br />

The Burren (Great rock) is a unique karst-<a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/landscape-region" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with landscape region">landscape region</a> in <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/northwest-county" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with northwest county">northwest County</a> Clare, in <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/ireland" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with ireland">Ireland</a>. The region measures approximately 250 <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/square-kilometres" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with square kilometres">square kilometres</a> and is enclosed roughly within the circle comprised by the villages Ballyvaughan, Kinvara, Tubber, Corofin, Kilfenora and Lisdoonvarna, It is bounded by the Atlantic and Galway Bay on the west and north respectively. Strictly speaking the territory of the Burren or <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/barony" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with barony">barony</a> of Burren only contains the villages of Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan, Fanore, Craggagh, New Quay/Burrin, Bealaclugga (Bellharbour) and Carron. It is not <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/top-vacation-destinations" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with top vacation destinations">top vacation destinations</a> but interesting once.<br />

<p>Diocletian&#8217;s Palace is a building in Split in <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/croatia" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with croatia">Croatia</a> that was built by the <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/emperor-diocletian" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with emperor diocletian">emperor Diocletian</a> at the turn of the fourth century AD. The Latin name of the city, Spalatum, was drawn from that of the nearby Greek colony Aspalathos, which in turn was named after a white thorn common in the area. Contrary to popular belief, it has nothing to do with the Latin word for palace, <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/palatium" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with palatium">palatium</a>. Croatia is one of <a href="http://www.dankuna.com/blog/tag/top-vacation-destinations" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with top vacation destinations">top vacation destinations</a>.</p>
