If you are an outdoor lover why not take a trip to see some beautiful rock formations in Southern Utah. There are five parks in the state that you are not going to want to miss the next time you take a Utah vacation.

Arches National Park

The Arches National is a great park which receives a ton of visitors each year. There are hundreds of massive sandstone arches in this park.

It is pretty amazing to think about how these natural wounders formed naturally. It is hard to believe that they where not created by some intellegent being, not by pure chance.

2. The Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon is also very beautiful because of its great viewpoints. On top of these canyons you will be able to see some amazing rock formations and I have to imagine it is an unrivaled place to study geology. It really shows you how beautiful the scenery in Utah can be.

3. The Canyonlands National Park

This Park is known for their gigantic sandstone formations known as the Needles.. The needles seem to break out of the ground and fill the huge valley with these unbelieveable rock formations. The only part I did not like about Canyonlands was that it was split into three sections.

These sections are cut off from each other so you are limited on what you can see. It takes at least 3 days to see everything the park has to offer because each section is a day trip on its own.

4. Capitol Reef National Park

This park is truely amazing and contains a massive canyon. The Waterpocket in the park was formed around 65 million years ago and stretches over 100 miles. This is truly a site to see. In addition to this great canyon there are also Indian carvings which you can get a great close up look at.

5. The Zion National Park

Zion National park is a great place for water lovers and greenery. It is more along the line of a traditional forest and has some great waterfall hikes in it.

All of these National Parks in Utah on the list are very beautiful and show off Utah’s wonderful land. The next time you take a vacation to Southern Utah make sure you spend a few days visiting them.
