The Springer Opera House is a historic live performance theater located in downtown Columbus, Georgia. First opened February 21, 1871, the theater was named the State Theatre of Georgia by Governor Jimmy Carter for its 100th anniversary season, a designation made permanent by the 1992 state legislature. The Springer has hosted legendary performers such as Edwin Booth, Ethel Barrymore, Agnes de Mille, and bandleader John Phillip Sousa. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Georgia travel guides.

The Seargeant Floyd Monument is a monument on the bank of the Missouri River at Floyd’s Bluff in what is now Sioux City, Iowa. The monument honors Charles Floyd, a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, who died on the upstream voyage in 1805 and was buried here. The monument is significant also because it is the first designated National Historic Landmark of the United States. Charles Floyd (1782 – 1804) was a United States explorer, a non-commissioned officer and quartermaster in the Lewis and Clark Expedition. A native of Kentucky, he was a relative of William Clark . Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres between 48th and 51st Streets in New York City. Built by the Rockefeller family, it is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. It is the largest privately held complex of its kind in the world, and an international symbol of modernist architectural style blended with capitalism.

Rockefeller Center was named after John D. Rockefeller, Jr., who rented the space from Columbia University in 1928 and it developed from 1930. Rockefeller initially planned a syndicate to build an opera for the Metropolitan Opera on the site, but changed his mind after the 1929 stock market crash and the Metropolitan continued delays to hold a lease for more favorable than the causes of Rockefeller for moving forward without them. Rockefeller said: “It was clear that there were only two courses open to me one summer to abandon the development of any other to move forward in the detailed knowledge that I myself to build it and finance it alone … “He took on the enormous project as the exclusive financial, on a 27-year lease (with option for three 21-year renewals for a total of 87 years) the site of Columbia, to negotiate a line of credit with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and cover the operating costs through the sale of shares in the oil company.

Iolani Palace is situated in the capitol district of downtown Honolulu in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi. It is the only royal palace used as an official residence by a reigning monarch in the United States and is a National Historic Landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Unlike some city parks which are mostly free of buildings in favor of open space and recreational fields (e.g. New York’s Central Park), Balboa Park is a cultural complex. Besides open areas and natural vegetation, it contains a variety of cultural attractions including museums, theaters, gardens, shops and restaurants as well as the world-renowned San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park has been declared a National Historic Landmark. The park is managed and maintained by the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Another great tourist spot for great vacation.
