
Munich Residence
The Residence (Residenz) is the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs in the city center of Munich. The residence is the largest downtown palace in Germany and serves today as one of the finest museums of Europe to decorate the site. The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and the museum displays 130 quarters. The three main pieces are Königsbau (near the maximum-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (to the Residenzstraße) and Festsaalbau (to the Hofgarten).
