Polyforum Cultural

The is a multi-functional cultural facility, located in ’s Mexico . It is a well-known location, both as part of the landmark WTC Mexico complex as well as for its unique shape and extensive by , for whom the building is named. The Polyforum was built as part of the complex in the 1960s, financed by Manuel Suarez y Suarez, who invited Siqueiros to design and decorate the building. Siqueiros came up with a dodecahedron-shaped structure for which he painted murals on most of its surfaces. Among the most famous of them is La Marcha de la Humanidad (“The March of Humanity”), which covers the entire walls on the building’s top-floor elliptical forum and is the world’s largest mural. The painting depicts humanity’s evolution from the past to the present as well as a vision of the future. The building has facilities for theatre, and diverse events. Along with the entire World Trade Center Mexico complex, the Polyforum is served by the Polyforum station of the Metrobus Bus rapid transit system, located a few meters away.
