You may not realise it but Paddington is actually from the depths of Peru which is where his aunt (who used to take care of him) is still living to this day.

The character Paddington was first introduced to the world on the 13th October 1958. The Bear was created by Michael Bond who based him on a bear he bought for his wife from Paddington Station. This is of course where he got the name from and the reason he is named that in the book is exactly the same. When found by the Brown family Paddington has a note attached to him saying “wanted on voyage” this was Bond’s way of showing how he remembered evacuees at train stations with similar notes attached to them.

Paddington actually stowed away on a life boat in which all he had to eat was marmalade which of course all bears love to eat. According to Paddington, Bears love marmalade and when it is in sandwiches he simply adores the stuff.

The piercing stare is the answer to Paddingtons anger issues, he never gets mad and will only ever do this stare.

Paddington has really become a worldwide success with loads of books being sold. A paddington film is actually on the way involving real actors but of course no one can forget the original Paddington series right. The film that is currently in devlopment is going to be very similar to other films that have done the same the most famous being Scooby Doo?

It is thanks to the recent Marmite adverts that Paddington is now seen to enjoy Marmite over marmalade.

Peru which of course is where he is from is actually a really nice place to visit on holiday and is a lot better than the busy London streets and going on one of those Galapagos Cruises could be something for you.

When going on a Galapagos holiday you could even have the chance to spot a real life Paddington as he is based on the spectacled bear that lives there. Of course self drive holidays are also an option when travelling to Peru.

It is likely that you will walk in the footsteps of Darwin, and visit the stunning Galapagos Islands. An interesting documentary has been made by an American team, which refutes many of the original theories of Charles Darwin. The theory of Evolution is exactly what it claims to be a theory. It is the same as the Bible as far as the evolutionists are concerned.

Andy and Jon Erwin produced the documentary The Mysterious Island, which was time to coincide with the anniversary of Darwin’s book. They filmed the documentary as if through the eyes of the teenaged boy, who examines with his father some of the strange creature that Darwin studies two centuries before. It aims to examine some of the questions that Darwin failed to answer, or as they claim, simply got wrong. The mission was to determine whether the Galapagos Islands are a laboratory for evolution, or a showcase for creation. The theory of evolution is a subjective and emotive topic which has divided communities for two hundred years.

I’m not surprised to learn that the Galapagos Islands are a favourite destination within the tourist community. In fact in recent years a Galapagos holiday featured in a poll in America as being one of the top five destinations on the planet. As ideas for active holidays go, this one is quite hard to beat. It is odd that people from one of the worlds largest land masses want to visit somewhere with such a small land mass. As far as I can tell, there are no Macdonalds anywhere around here! For some people a visit to the Islands means Galapagos Cruises and a guided tour of the inhabited islands. For others, Galapagos cruises are best left for those who want to soak up the sun, whilst experiencing the high quality entertainment and service that come with the package. Is there anyone on the planet who would be able to resist something that sounds so idealic!
