For decades, the West Country has been a magnet for ‘stay at home’ holiday makers, those who choose to take in the delights of the United Kingdom rather than travel abroad.
With miles of lovely winding beaches, rocky coves, tales of smugglers and pirates, TV program locations like ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘River Cottage’, dinosaur fossils and some of the finest surfing conditions in this part of the world, it’s not hard to see the appeal of counties like Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.
