Ah, yes, Disney World – such a shiny, shimmering, splendid place where kids of all ages can find amusement and excitement – wouldn’t you want to go there sometime with the rest of your family? Probably not due to the costs, you say, but with just a little of the R-word (research it is, natch), it might be more inexpensive than you think. A little research never hurt anybody, and in fact, by comparing vacation packages you could make a more informed decision.
Disney Vacation Packages
If you are wanting to stretch your funds as much as you could, try the five-day starter package. You could be on your honeymoon with your new wife or with the kids and/or the teens – doesn’t matter much. However, what you want to avoid, of course, is throwing your money away on rides and/or activities you didn’t enjoy anyway, so it makes sense to do your research and plan everything first.
Downtown Attractions
A trip to the Imagination Center downtown should prove to be a treat for Lego lovers of all ages. You and your kids can enjoy yourself as you gaze at sculptures created purely from Lego, or the kids can run around the 3,000 square foot play area – now that’s a whole lot of Lego for them to amuse themselves with!
Musical Fountains
A majestic array of sound and motion awaits you with interactive fountains. And if you want, you can even have your picture taken for remembrance as you merrily splash around in the water – WOO-HOOOOOOO!!! Nearby there are free magic shows and they will teach you a few lessons in magic for free also.
Pleasure Island
This place is proof positive that this park is more than just a place for the young and young-of-heart. And what do you know, there’s no charge to get in by the time the sun goes down! When the kids are tucked into bed, you and the better half can paint the town like adults should, visit the restaurants or go shopping, and while at it, watch the fireworks display nearby! There are also night clubs on the island, although those require a cover fee to get in.
Boardwalk
Everybody sing along…under the Boardwalk, down by the seee-aaaa! But Boardwalk is a place where you can take your family for some fun, frolic and freebies! Have fun strolling down the Boardwalk and enjoy the street performers. From jugglers to jazz musicians, take in the atmosphere and enjoy. If you want to enjoy live bands and dancing with no cover charge AND no noise, the Atlantic Dance Hall is the place to be.
Monorail
There is no charge to ride the Monorail if you happen to have a multi-pass. Those who travel to Disney always look for the Monorail as it gives them a comprehensive tour of the entire park and all its attractions.
Cruises
Many attractions are viewable if you go on a cruise – that is, of course, if you can afford it – but it will be all worth your money as your fluvial journey passes through the Epcot Center, MGM, Swan and Dolphin and quite a few other attractions. And as your journey continues on the open water, you have the option to visit the Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness, and Grand Floridian, among others via boat.
