Copley Square, Boston

Square


, named for the American portraitist painter (1738 – 1815), is a open square settled in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. A bronze statue of Copley, by sculptor Lewis Cohen, is settled on the northern side of the square. The study painter Square is frequently applied to the large area extending approximately two blocks east and west along , Huntington Avenue, and St. saint Avenue. The square is adjacent to the finish line of the Beantown Marathon and a monument in the park commemorates the marathon.
Copley Square haw be unique in boasting of three masterpieces of concern stature in the medieval, classical and recent traditions. Indeed, and the Beantown Public Library constitute perhaps the most famous confrontation in the history of American architecture.
