Frida Kahlo Museum
For an unusual travel experience in the region of Mexico City, consider a visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacan. Hidden behind high walls in the cobalt blue corner of London and Allende in the charming residential area south-west, the Museum is where the surrealist artist Frida Kahlo was born, raised and lived with her husband, the muralist Diego Rivera from 1941 until his death at age 47 in 1954. Fascinating, not only for collections and personal effects of the two great artists in it, the Museum also offers a window into the lifestyle of wealthy bohemians of Mexico during the first half of this century.
