(formerly Fourth Avenue) is a panoramic boulevard that carries northerly and southbound traffic in New of Manhattan. Throughout most of its length, it runs parallel to to the west and to the east.

The flowers and greenery in the median of Park Avenue are serviceable by the Fund for Park Avenue. Begonias are a flower of choice for the Funds gardeners because there is no automatic watering system and they can cope with blistering sun.
Each December, Christmas trees are placed in the median. The first instance they were erected colored lights were used and accidents occurred because of confusion with traffic signals in front of them. Today exclusive chromatic and white lights are used.

The Flatiron Building, or as it was originally called, is located at 175 in the , and is considered to be one of the first ever built. Upon completion in 1902 it was one of the City. The building sits on a triangular island block at 23rd Street, Fifth Avenue, and , anchoring the south (downtown) end of . The neighborhood around the building is called the after its signature building. Historical for New York .

Battery Park is a 25 acre (10 hectare) public park located at the Battery, the southern tip of the New of Manhattan, facing New York Harbor. The Battery is named for the that was stationed there at various times by the Dutch and British in order to protect the harbor. At the north end of the park is Pier A, formerly a fire boat station and Hope Garden, a memorial to AIDS victims.

At the other end is Battery Gardens restaurant, next to the United States Coast Guard Battery Building. Along the waterfront, ferries depart for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There is also a stop on the New York Water Taxi route between the Statue of Liberty Ferry and Pier A. To the northwest of the park lies , a planned community built on landfill in the 1970s and 80s, which includes Robert F. and the Promenade. Together with , a system of greenspaces, bikeways and promenades now extend up the Hudson shoreline. A bikeway is being built through the park that will connect the Hudson River and East River parts of the Greenway. Across State Street to the northeast stands the old U.S. Customs House, now used as a branch of the National Museum of the American Indian and the district U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Peter Minuit Plaza abuts the southeast end of the park, directly in front of the South Ferry Terminal of the Staten Island Ferry. Must for NY travel guides.

Central Park

Central Park is a super public, urban park (843 acres, 3.41 km², 1.32 mi²; a rectangle 2.5 by 0.5 , or 4 km × 800 m) in the in . With about twenty-five million visitors annually, Central Park is the most visited city park in the United States, and its appearance in many movies and television shows has made it among the most famous city parks in the world. It is run by the , a private, not-for-profit organization that manages the park under a contract with the , in which the president of the Conservancy is ex-officio Administrator of Central Park. Central Park is deckled on the north by West 110th Street, on the southward by West 59th Street, on the westerly by Central Park West, and on the easterly by .
