The beach is largely unspoiled and lives as well as local fishermen and foreign tourists, who live in shacks along the beach or the main village itself. It is about a mile (2 km) long and is crescent-shaped – it can be seen throughout the end of the beach, either. Both ends of the beach consists of rocks overhanging the sea. Depths of the sea is gradually increasing, is the lowest at the ends of the north side of the beach, so it is safe for swimmers average, and currents are not fast.

Palolem beach is 2 km from the city of the boiler, which is an hour drive from the coastal town of Karwar in Karnataka and about 40 minutes from Margao (main southern city of Goa).

I was in Goa last year and tried really hard to find Palolem beach but somehow I missed it, anyway it gives me a great excuse to go back again now.

Its really surprising that it is about one mile approx 1.61 km long and is crescent-shaped – one can view the whole beach from either end.
Its good that the beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists who live in shacks along the shore.
