The Museum für Naturkunde (in English, the Museum of Natural History), widely known as the Naturkundemuseum, seldom as Humboldt Museum of Berlin. It has a massive collection of more than 25 million zoological, paleontological, and minerological specimens, including more than ten thousand type specimens. It is most famous for two spectacular exhibits: the largest mounted dinosaur in the world, and the most exquisitely preserved specimen of the earliest known bird, Archaeopteryx. Tourist spot for travel guides.

Museum Island (Museumsinsel) in Berlin, Germany is the name of the northern half of the Spreeinsel, an island in the Spree river in the centre of the city (the southern half of the island is called Fischerinsel (Fishers’ Island)).
Museumsinsel (Museum Island), Berlin
The island received its name for several internationally renowned museums that now occupy all of the island’s northern half (originally a residential area dedicated to “art and science” by King Frederick William IV of Prussia in 1841). Constructed under several Prussian kings, their collections of art and archeology were turned into a public foundation after 1918, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation), which maintains the collections and museums today. The Prussian collections became separated during the Cold War during the division of the city, but were reunited after German reunification except for the art and artefacts stolen after World War II by Allied troops and not yet returned; these include the Priam’s Treasure, also called the gold of Troy, excavated by Heinrich Schliemann in 1873, then smuggled out of Turkey to Berlin. Berlin has lo of tourist attractions and very rich travel guides. Museumsinsel (Museum Island), Berlin GPS coordinates: 52° 31′ 17″ N, 13° 23′ 44″ E

Potsdamer Platz (English Potsdam Square) is an important public square and traffic intersection in the centre of Berlin, Germany, lying about one kilometre south of the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag (German Parliament Building), and close to the southeast corner of the Tiergarten park. It is named after the city of Potsdam, some 25 km to the south west, and marks the point where the old road from Potsdam passed through the city wall of Berlin at the Potsdam Gate. After developing within the space of little over a century from an intersection of rural thoroughfares into the most bustling traffic intersection in Europe[citation needed], it was totally laid waste during World War II and then left desolate during the Cold War era when the Berlin Wall bisected its former location, but since the fall of the Wall it has risen again as a glittering new heart for the city and the most visible symbol of the new Berlin- Berlin is very nice with lot of tourist interesting places. The tower was built between 1965 and 1969 by the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) and its image was used as a symbol of Berlin by the GDR administration. The tower is easily visible throughout central and some surburban districts of Berlin and remains a symbol of the city. The original total height of the tower was 365 metres, but after the installation of a new antenna in the 1990s, the height is now 368 m. The Fernsehturm is the fourth tallest freestanding structure in Europe, after Moscow’s Ostankino Tower, the Kiev TV Tower and the Riga Radio and TV Tower. There is a visitor platform and a rotating restaurant in the middle of the sphere. The visitor platform is at a height of about 204 m above the ground and visibility can reach 42 km (25 miles) on a clear day. The restaurant, which rotates once every twenty minutes, is a few metres above the visitors platform (originally it turned once per hour; the speed was later doubled, and tripled following the tower’s late 1990s renovation). Berlin is one of best travel cities, lot to see. Fernsehturm (TV Tower), Berlin GPS coordinates: 52° 31′ 15″ N, 13° 24′ 34″ E

It faces the Lustgarten and the Berliner Stadtschloss (Berlin City Palace). Later the church of the Dominican Order (Schwarze Brüder), located at the south side of the castle, was used as the first cathedral. The first church at this site was a baroque cathedral by Johann Boumann, which was completed in 1747 and, in 1822, remodelled in the neoclassicist style by the Berlin architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. In 1894, on German Emperor Wilhelm II’s order, this domed building was demolished and replaced by the current cathedral designed by Julius Raschdorff. At 114 m long, 73 m wide and 116 m tall, it was much larger than any of the previous buildings and was considered a Protestant counterweight to St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Berlin is one of best cultural cities in Europe. You have a lot of culutal events around. Great for summer holiday. Berliner Dom, Berlin Cathedral GPS coordinates: 52° 31′ 9″ N, 13° 24′ 4″ E

Checkpoint Charlie was the name given by the Western Allies to a crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War, located at the junction of Friedrichstraße with Zimmerstraße and Mauerstraße (which coincidentally means ‘Wall Street’). It is in the Friedrichstadt neighborhood, which was divided by the Berlin Wall. Many other sector crossing points existed in Berlin. Some of these were designated for residents of West Berlin and West German citizens. Checkpoint Charlie was designated as the single crossing point (by foot or by car) for foreigners and members of the Allied forces. (Members of the Allied forces were not allowed to use the other sector crossing point designated for use by foreigners, the Friedrichstraße railway station.) The name Charlie came for the letter C in the NATO phonetic alphabet; similarly for other Allied checkpoints on the Autobahn to the West: Checkpoint Alpha at Helmstedt and Checkpoint Bravo at Dreilinden, southeast of Wannsee. The Soviets simply called it the Friedrichstraße Crossing Point. The East Germans officially referred to Checkpoint Charlie as the Grenzübergangsstelle (“Border Crossing Point”) Friedrich-/Zimmerstraße.
Checkpoint Charlie became a symbol of the Cold War, representing the separation of east and west, and — for some East Germans — a gateway to freedom. It is frequently featured in spy movies and books. The famous cafe and viewing point for Allied officials, Armed Forces and visitors alike, Cafe Adler (“Cafe Eagle”), is situated right on the checkpoint. It was an excellent viewing point to look into East Berlin, whilst having something to eat and drink. Berlin today is great multicultural city with lots of tourist attractions. You can easily travel to Berlin by car, travel trailer or plane. Think of it as your summer holiday destination.
