Whether it’s a scenic beach front, great shopping, the arts, or just lots of fun, has it. With its mix of sites and attractions, there’s always things to do in , whatever time of year you visit. Being a seaside town, ’s beach front is, naturally, its main attraction, and it has all kinds of activity (such as sunbathing, surfing, sailing, volleyball and skateboarding) going on. If it’s shopping you want, the area of Brighton called The Lanes offers a mix of cool and unique shops set amongst a maze of quaint, timeless streets. Brighton, like every respectable British seaside town, has a pier. There are, in fact, two piers, but one is awaiting renovation for damage due to centuries of ocean storms. The remaining pier is called, simply, The Brighton Pier and is the home of arcades, cafes, restaurants, a roller-coaster, and dodgems. It is singularly British. During the summer months it is the venue for fireworks on the beachfront. Visitors delight to see these fabulous displays. A visit to The Royal Pavilion is a must when visiting Brighton. It was built for The Prince Regent, the future King George the IV. The Royal Pavilion was in use by the Royal Family until Victorian times. It reflects an Indian style with other Asian influences, mostly Chinese. No expense was spared during the building of The Pavilion and it exhibits an extravagance and splendor that can only be appreciated by a visit. If you have lots of energy and would like to get out into the bracing English seaside air, consider a walking tour. Seeing Brighton by foot is a great learning experience and you will undoubtedly find the history of Brighton and its nearby sister city, Hove, to be fascinating. Walking tours are guided and you will be treated to all sorts of interesting information about the history and landmarks of the towns. The guides can also share information about other things to see and do while in Brighton. If a walking tour isnt your thing, there are always Brightons wonderful bus tours. A daily ticket will allow you to get on and off and back on the bus as you stop where you will and reboard to see the next site. You will have a chance to make a leisurely day of it, seeing the sights and stopping for tea or lunch along the way. The bus tours take you by all of the major tourist attractions as well as major monuments and landmarks. Consider a bus tour early in your visit to give you an idea of what Brighton is all about!
