Alton Towers
Alton Towers is the United Kingdom’s most famous theme park, attracting 2.5 million visitors in 2005.[1] It is based north of the village of Alton in Staffordshire (approximately 16 miles (26 km) east of Stoke-on-Trent), on the site of a semi-ruined gothic country house of the same name. Also on site are two hotels; The Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Landings Hotel, the latter contains Cariba Creek, an indoor/outdoor water park. Nice family vacation location.
